Meet the team behind NXT Level:

Kenneth B. Hamlet

Senior Advisor

Ken is a founding member and Chairman of the Kimberlite Group. He is also a Senior Advisor at Crestview Partners, L.P., a director of Black Diamond Holdings (a conglomerate whose main interest is gold mining), and an advisor to several emerging real estate and hospitality-related firms. He served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Holiday Inns Inc. when it was the largest hospitality concern in the world. During his tenure, he was instrumental in the acquisition of Harrah’s, participated in the $2.5 billion recapitalization of Holiday Corporation in 1987, and assisted with the launch of the following brands: Harrah’s Gaming, Hampton Inns, Embassy Suites and Residence Inn. Ken was also President and COO of Holiday Corporation Asia and responsible for the development, joint ventures, and operations for all the company’s real estate assets in Asia with a focus on China’s gateways cities, including Beijing, Guangzhou Shifu, Shanghai, and Hong Kong. He established a university in Beijing, which trained approximately 10,000 Chinese Nationals on how to operate a Western hotel and set up a joint venture with Cornell University Hotel School to train executives in the hotel business. Ken was responsible for training numerous executives who are now in senior positions in the hotel business around the world. He was also President of Knowledge Universe Executive Education and Conferences LLC (a holding company for TEC International, now Vistage International, for which he was Chairman and Chief Executive Officer), Chairman of Resource Nation, Inc. (a service solution for small businesses), and a Director of Montecito Medical Acquisitions Corporation (an owner/operator of medical office buildings). Ken has been a member of Young Presidents’ Organization/World Presidents’ Organization (YPO/WPO), Chief Executives Organization (CEO), Chairmen’s Round Table, American Hotel & Motel Association and the National Restaurant Association. He is currently on the board of Advisors for Cornell University’s School of Hotel Administration (the Pillsbury Foundation) as well as Aspen Country Day School. Ken has also served in a variety of leadership roles of not-for-profit organizations. He holds an undergraduate degree from Cornell University and an AMP degree from Harvard Business School.

Marques H. Harris

Co-Founder/Chief Executive Officer

Former NFL player for the San Diego Chargers and the San Francisco 49ers, Marques Harris has parlayed his career into an entrepreneur with multiple businesses. He is an ACN Independent Business Owner and a philanthropist as founder of the Harris’ Kids Foundation. Previously, he was the owner of multiple Colorado-area businesses that included The Palms Tanning Resort, a half a million dollar business, as well as My Denver Party Bus and an insurance agency. As a business owner for ACN, he has spoken at events across the country to thousands of people to show them a way to tap into a back-up source of income or create an entirely new career. He is now focused on real estate development projects, including obtaining his real estate license. In 2013, he renovated and flipped six single family homes with his business partner, Antonio Russo. Currently, he has three crews and is undertaking a $2 million, five-unit new urban development project in the Denver area. During his professional football career, Harris gained national notoriety for celebrating big defensive plays with a back-flip that has been replayed on highlight shows across the country, including ESPN’s SportsCenter. Harris was highly respected among his teammates for an outstanding work ethic and commitment to preparing his body for the rigors of the game. Marques began his collegiate football career at the University of Colorado where he then became a second generation Buffalo. Marques got an early start in community service, founding two non-profit organizations while he was still in college and participating in food drives and hospital volunteer work. In October 2002, he founded Harris’ Kids Inc., an organization to help underprivileged kids who need mentoring. Later, he started a similar organization called Baseline, Inc. In addition to his work with the Harris’ Kids Foundation where he raises money for underprivileged children to enable them to play high school sports and help mentor them toward future success, Marques regularly volunteers for community events. Marques was recently appointed secretary for the NFL chapter of retired players in Denver. He has a B.A. degree in Communications from the University of Colorado at Boulder. Marques, his wife, and their children split their time between homes in Colorado and San Diego. Having spent most of his childhood in Colorado, Marques participates in a wide range of outdoor activities, including snowboarding, backpacking, camping, fishing and golf.

Carolyn J. Hamlet

Company Advisor

Carolyn is a licensed mortgage originator in the State of Colorado (NMLS# 223323) and is president and owner of Hamlet Financial Corporation (NMLS# 383699). Hamlet Financial Corporation acts as a broker for residential and commercial mortgage loans. In October 2003, she co-founded and was President of Power-Hamlet, LLC, a SEC-registered investment advisory firm focused on unique capital preservation through personalized fixed income asset management. Power-Hamlet, LLC, based in Santa Monica, California, had approximately $135 million in assets at the time Carolyn sold her interest in March 2004. Between July 1999 and January 2002, she held various executive positions at MP3.com, one of the most popular internet sites that pioneered a revolutionary approach to the promotion and distribution of music. From September 2000 until her departure, Carolyn was directly responsible for building the international presence of MP3.com as president of MP3.com International, based in London and San Diego. Prior to that, she led the Strategic Transactions Group which made investments in companies that furthered the vision of MP3.com, such as PortalPlayer, Inc. and PacketVideo. Carolyn sat on the board of PortalPlayer, which provided a technology platform for next generation audio devices such as Apple Computer’s iPOD, from January 2000 until June 2002. In August 2001, MP3.com was acquired by Vivendi Universal. Prior to her tenure at MP3.com, Carolyn had extensive financial and investment experience, having worked at two financial institutions (Merrill Lynch and Columbia Savings and Loan Association) between 1984 and 1990 and having structured and invested in several private equity transactions in the U.S. and Europe between 1994 and 1999 on behalf of many well-known high net worth individuals in industries ranging from technology to real estate. She also relocated to Melbourne, Australia to provide M&A-related consulting services to another high net worth individual who was, in 1990-1991, the second largest shareholder in the largest retail conglomerate in the southern hemisphere. Additionally, Carolyn provided strategic planning and business plan consulting to clients including The Anderson School at UCLA (regarding the role of information technology in its MBA programs) and she successfully launched a New Zealand consumer product in the U.S., Canada, Mexico and Europe. She also co-founded Brantrock Advisors, Inc., an investment advisory firm based in Santa Monica, California in 1996 and was involved with the organization until 2010.
She received her undergraduate degree in computer science from Brandeis University in 1984 and was a member of the varsity tennis team for all four years (team captain in her senior year). Carolyn received her MBA (with a concentration in finance and entrepreneurial studies) from The Anderson School at UCLA in 1988 where she also won the 1988 Business Plan Competition. She has been a member of Young Presidents’ Organization/World Presidents’ Organization (YPO/WPO) since 2001 (and is a founding member of the recently-formed YPO/WPO Aspen Chapter), is vice president of the Board of Trustees of Anderson Ranch Arts Center (Snowmass, Colorado), and is a member of the education and strategic planning committees.

Antonio R. Russo

Co-founder/President

An athlete and competitor by nature, Antonio Russo is an entrepreneur with a successful Denver, Colorado-based business, Equity First Insurance LLC, an insurance agency that was started from the ground up five years ago. Over the past ten years, Antonio has been involved in real estate and finance, including many development projects and businesses that were developed and sold. His licenses and credentials include a real estate license; insurance license for property & casualty/life & health; Series 6, 63, and 66; and a loan originator’s license. Antonio has a bachelor’s degree in Finance from Metro State College.

Robert Vasquez

Real Estate Division

Robert leads the Real Estate Division of NXT Level Agency. He is a licensed Denver real estate professional, serving Colorado homebuyers and sellers for over 20 years. His experience includes serving as the Broker/Owner of Homevision Real Estate group and Managing Partner for S & V Investment Group, LLC. In this role, Robert has specialized in the re-development of damaged properties, property management, and affordable housing. His focus is on raising the ethical standards of the real estate, lending, and appraisal industry in Denver as well as educating homebuyers, home sellers, and other real estate professionals. He also produced the @ Home Real Estate show on 710 KNUS from 1999-2002, which was designed to help people buy, sell, and invest in real estate. As a Denver native, Robert grew up in Curtis Park and continues to live there. He attended the Metropolitan State College of Denver.

Paige Russo

Insurance Division

Paige leads the Insurance Division of NXT Level Agency. As a licensed insurance broker with a diverse professional and educational background, she already leads a successful insurance company, brokering over 40 companies and always finding the best plan and price for her customers. With a true passion for helping people, Paige has built a successful career around her customer service, teambuilding, training and support skills. During her academic pursuits, she gained extensive experience and knowledge about running and structuring businesses. Paige has a B.A. degree in Psychology with a Pre-Med minor from the University of South Florida as well as a Doctor of Chiropractic degree from the North Western University of Health Sciences. When she is not providing exceptional service for her agents and customers, she enjoys spending quality time with her family and beautiful daughter.
